If you are on treatment for an autoimmune disease, with the exception of Rituxan, which has special recommendations to discuss with your physician, we recommend that you get the COVID-19 Booster shot. The booster should be administered NO SOONER than 6 Months after your second original COVID-19 shot. If you are on Methotrexate, take the COVID-19 Booster 1 week after last dose of Methotrexate and then resume Methotrexate 1 week after receiving the Booster shot. If you have any questions, such as how to hold other medication for the vaccine, please direct them through the portal.

Actemra that is administered by IV is currently on a nationwide shortage. It is being used to treat COVID-19 patients. Therefore, we are currently unable to get any for our patients. The physicians will be contacting each of you to discuss a plan prior to your next visit.
