EKG
An electrocardiogram, also known as an EKG, is a non-invasive and very simple test used to measure the heart's electrical activity. An EKG allows your physician to determine if your heart is beating at a normal or slow, fast or irregular pace. The test also allows us to recognize any part of the heart that may be overworked or too large.
Laboratory Services
Our state-of-the-art facility houses a full service laboratory for the convenience of our patients. Most lab tests, blood tests or specimen collections ordered by our physicians may be done in our lab before you leave the office. When necessary we will send specimens to the appropriate reference laboratory.
Lab testing is a vital part of your treatment as it helps your physician diagnose your health issue correctly and shows any health changes over time. By having a laboratory onsite, we are able to produce your lab results quickly, enabling your physician to efficiently diagnosis your condition or determine if further testing is necessary.
Bone Density Test
According to the National Osteoporosis Foundation, it is estimated that 10 million Americans have osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is usually thought of as an older woman's disease, but 20% of these Americans are men, and osteoporosis can strike at any age.
We offer bone density tests which are integral in diagnosing, or determining the potential development of, osteoporosis in all our patients - both women and men.
If you are concerned about your bone density and susceptibly to osteoporosis, please call our office to schedule a bone density test.
Diagnostic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound
An ultrasound is safe and painless, and produces pictures of the inside of the body using sound waves. Ultrasound imaging involves the use of a small transducer (probe) and ultrasound gel placed directly on the skin. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the probe through the gel into the body. The transducer collects the sounds that bounce back and a computer then uses those sound waves to create an image. Ultrasound examinations do not use ionizing radiation (as used in X-rays), thus there is no radiation exposure to the patient. Because ultrasound images are captured in real-time, they can show the structure and movement of the body's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.
Ultrasound imaging is a noninvasive medical test that helps physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Ultrasound images of the musculoskeletal system provide pictures of muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints and soft tissue throughout the body.
